Freethinkers by Susan Jacoby
Finished this one on August 6th, but started this blog after. This book took me awhile, but I did like it. Its a history of freethought, although more specifically American freethought. I very much enjoyed the parts about Ingersoll, as well as the new (to me) information about slavery and women's suffrage in this country. Most of the champions in these causes were unknown to me. I plan on reading more about some of these people.
